Finishing Strong, Moving Forward

Finishing Strong, Moving Forward is the theme of our participation in our building program. God has richly blessed the ministry of First Church and has given it many wonderful members and dedicated Christians. He is calling us to share our blessings in extending his Kingdom here on earth. In 2001 First Church set as its goal to continue to minister in downtown Frankfort and to provide up-to-date facilities that would meet growth projections for the next ten years. Our new Christian Life Center is no longer just plans on a page, but is now a reality and present blessing.

Our Christian Life Center, known as the Wesley Center, is a 28,000 square foot, two story building that fits beautifully into the architecture of our present campus. The first floor contains a large gathering area, our nursery and children’s department, along with a very functional music suite.  The second floor contains the contemporary worship center/fellowship hall suitable for multi-media worship and fellowship meal times. A first-rate kitchen adjoins this area. This area is also expandable into a multi purpose unit that is used for physical activities (basketball, volleyball, wellness programs, etc.)

This 5 million dollar project is a statement of faith for the congregation of First Church. At the completion of the building there was a $3.5 million cost remaining. The first step of this campaign, Blessed to be a Blessing (2004-2007), raised 1.1 million dollars to start the retirement of this debt.  The second phase of our financial campaign, Building First . . . Growing for Christ, (2007-2010) raised 1.25 million dollars.  We are now in the third phase Finishing Strong, Moving Forward (2010- 2013).  Join us in prayer and in your partnership with us, that we will follow the Lord’s leading as we offer new and ongoing ministries in the Wesley Center and at First United Methodist Churh.
